Cancellations
Please review the following information about cancellation requests before submitting your request:
Who can submit a cancellation request
A cancellation request may only be submitted by the resident student, who is the legal contract holder. Check your email: You may be contacted by the Housing office for additional information if needed. Decisions will be sent to the e-mail address you provided us in your cancellation request.
Timeline
- Please allow at least 14 business days for a decision.
- Cancellation requests must be reviewed by Housing, and not all cancellation requests will be approved. For this reason, we urge you not to sign a lease off-campus while you are in the contract cancellation process.
Contract terms and conditions apply
- If your cancellation request is approved, you may be subject to contract cancellation fees, prorated rent, damage fees or lost key fees. See contract terms and conditions.
Approved reasons for cancellation requests
When you fill out the form, you will be asked to provide a reason for your cancellation request. The following are approved reasons to cancel. However, we urge you still not to sign any off-campus contracts until your cancellation has been officially granted:
- Denied Admission to UWF
- Not attending UWF
- You’re graduating
- You’ve withdrawn from all classes
- You must be fully withdrawn and provide the date of withdrawal on your cancellation request
- You must list the name of the university/college and provide proof of transfer on your cancellation request
- You must provide military orders on your cancellation request
- You must provide the date of suspension on your cancellation request
- You must include the name of your program and proof of internship, if applicable, on your cancellation request
Non-approved reasons for cancellation requests
If you are requesting the cancellation due to reasons not listed in the ‘approved’ list, you will need to select Other on the cancellation request form. Requests submitted under the "other" option will be denied if it does not meet the terms and conditions of the contract.
Appeals Process
You will have the option of entering into the Appeals Process if your cancellation request is denied. Details about how to appeal will be in the decision email you receive from Housing.
